Home of the Cougars and Warriors

Welcome to the Baboquivari Secondary Campus website! We are located in Topawa, Arizona, on the Tohono O’odham Nation, approximately one and a half hours southwest of Tucson.

Our high school and middle school’s philosophy is based on "educating the whole person—academically, emotionally, socially, and culturally," and has proved to be a winning belief.

Here at Baboquivari Secondary Campus, we are proud of our native heritage and seek to inspire and educate students not only in the Arizona State Standards, but also in their Himdag—the cultural beliefs that the Tohono O’odham live by. We offer small class sizes perfect for hands-on experiential learning and quality one-to-one time with faculty and staff.

Spend some time getting to know us. We know you’ll like what you find.

Our Vision Statement

Our graduates will acquire the knowledge and skills to excel, develop their strengths, embrace their individual and cultural identities, and lead their communities.

Our Mission Statement

To realize our vision we will:

  • espouse a holistic student centered learning environment;
  • utilize a socio-cultural responsive pedagogy and method of service;
  • provide a critically multicultural curriculum;
  • create and engage in meaningful partnerships with families and community;
  • advocate for student and staff well-being;
  • implement innovative strategies and technologies; and
  • build on the foundation of Himdag, s-wagima, and other cultural traditions to create an atmosphere of respect, inclusion, and trust that promotes intellectualism and cultivates a love of learning

…so that all our graduates are college and career ready.

A Message from Our Principal

Hello Baboquivari Community!

Welcome back to the 2024–2025 school year at Baboquivari Secondary Campus! I hope that you are having a wonderful summer. I am thrilled to write this letter to you as the Baboquivari Secondary Campus Interim Principal. It is with great joy and anticipation that I extend a warm welcome to our returning students, families, and staff, as well as extending a sincere greeting to our new members joining the Baboquivari family.

Our dedicated team of educators and staff have been hard at work preparing an engaging and enriching curriculum that focuses on both academic achievement and the development of important life skills. We are committed to nurturing each student's unique talents and strengths, providing them with opportunities to excel in a variety of areas in and out of the classroom.

Our administration team would like to invite you to visit our campus and get to know us and the new teachers that will be working with your students this school year.

  • Robert Russell - Assistant Principal of Curriculum and Instruction
  • Robert Villanueva - Assistant Principal of Operations and Student Services

We encourage active involvement from parents and guardians in their child's education. We firmly believe that a strong partnership between the school and families greatly contributes to a student's success. Open communication and regular engagement with teachers and school staff are vital to fostering a supportive and thriving learning environment.

Once again, I am excited for a successful school year for all, and I look forward to seeing you all real soon!

      Sincerely,

      Constance Onsae
